    Spam Blog Comments

    Make Them Stop

Is is just me or has anyone else been getting a ridiculous amount of spam comment’s on their blogs posts.  For some time now I have been getting an absorbent amount of unwanted comments that have absolutely nothing to do with my blog post.  Below is an example of what I am writing about!

    spam_blog_comments

What you see here is a massive amount of links that were left as a comment to one of my blog postings.  Click Here to see the actual blog itself!

This is highly frustrating to me as I only want the comments that are truly meant as a response to the post to show up!  I realize that in order for me to maintain an open relationship with the Community Clubhouse that I must have a public blog site that is open to all, however, there has to be a way to minimize these relentless attacks on people’s blogs.  Fortunately, thus far, they have not been any adult ads appearing.  This does not make this issue any less frustration though!

I have read many article’s and wonderful posts on how to eliminate spam and unwanted mail and am very familiar with those techniques, however, is there a way to control what can be left as comments without having to restrict the level of permissions of your blog site?  Also, I would be more than grateful if Microsoft would change their policy on requiring actual names to be shown as opposed to say “No Name” so we can at least pin point those who may be violating the “TOS” as defined by Microsoft.

I was reading another blog post with some wonderful suggestions and I certainly hope that the wonderful people around Microsoft will act appropriately to the suggestions that were rendered within it!  Previously you had to provide the link to the URL of the person who was sending the abusive spam and as suggested in the post a person should just have to click on the name of sender and “Report As Abuse”.  Although, it has been a while since I have been an active blogger with both my personal world as well as the things I do for Microsoft’s Community Clubhouse I am eager to know that these item’s are being looked into!

So, what issues are you experiencing around Live Spaces and what would you like to see a well put together blog on?  Tell me and I will certainly research it and go live with it before I have to be back on the road again!  As many of you know, I am an over the road driver by profession and blogging is my secondary love.  If you would like me to stop when in your neighborhood for a wonderful discussion, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I am always looking to meet the wonderful faces behind the many friend’s that I have made along the way here in Live Spaces.

Until the next posting I get to release, have a wonderful and blessed evening!

I am about to start a first ever blog, even though I have no clue how to do it!!
When I read about all this spamming by mental retards, I feel like abandoning completely the idea of blogging....as a way to promote the book I just wrote and published, called KILL THE ADDICTION, subtitled STOP SMOKING : WITHOUT QUITTING.
(anyone interested can find out more about my book at http://www.outskirtspress.com/stopsmokingwithoutquitting ).
Anyone know where to get a course (or help) on How to Blog ?

I get daily comment spam and delete them from my blog. It's usually the same person/profile which is clearly a spaces profile setup for comment spamming. I wish I could block or report this person. Seems like a very basic feature.

The MSN Spaces team was supposed to eliminate "no name" comments. You should know that deleting these comments is the best cure, and frustration is giving in to what the "lame brains" want. I love your posts. Just keep up the good work.
